Terms of Service

01Acceptance

By accessing or using matchin you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

02Eligibility & availability

You must be at least 18 years old (counted from your actual birthday) and able to form a binding contract. You confirm your age by entering your own date of birth when you sign up; we do not collect government ID or run identity checks, so giving a false date of birth is a breach of these Terms. If we learn or reasonably believe that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will remove it, and we keep a minimal one-way hashed record so the same account cannot simply sign up again (see the Privacy Policy). You may not use matchin if you are barred under applicable law, have been convicted of a felony or a sex offense, are required to register as a sex offender, or have previously been removed from the Service. You use matchin for personal, non-commercial purposes only. matchin is offered globally; you are responsible for complying with the laws that apply where you use it.

03Your account & security

Provide accurate information, keep your credentials confidential, and you are responsible for all activity under your account. Maintain one account per person; do not impersonate anyone or transfer your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

04Free beta & sample profiles

matchin is currently free. There are no subscriptions, paid features, or in-app purchases during the beta, and we do not collect payment information. We plan to introduce matchin Sense (an optional AI dating coach) and possibly other paid features later; when we do, we will clearly disclose pricing and renewal terms and obtain your agreement before any charge. Nothing in these Terms obligates you to pay anything today.

Sample profiles. Because matchin is new, when there are no more real people to show you in Discover we may show sample profiles. They are fictional, use illustrated avatars, and are clearly labeled “Sample” on the card. Sample profiles are not real people: they never like you, never match with you, and never send you messages. They only appear after real candidates run out, and we expect to show fewer of them as more members join.

05Your content & license to us

You retain ownership of the photos, text, and other content you submit ("User Content"). You grant matchin a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, and display your User Content to operate, promote, and improve the Service. You represent that you own or have the rights to your User Content and that it does not violate the law or any third-party rights. This license ends when you delete your User Content or account, except for copies retained for legal, safety, or backup purposes and content others have shared.

06Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, or impersonating information, or use bots or fake profiles.
• Harass, threaten, defame, or discriminate against others, or post hateful or violent content.
• Share sexual content involving minors (ever), or non-consensual, obscene, or unlawful content.
• Solicit money, advertise, spam, run scams, or move users to fraudulent off-platform schemes.
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, overload, or interfere with the Service or its security.

You must also follow our Community Guidelines, which are part of these Terms.

07Safety, no background checks & assumption of risk

matchin does not conduct criminal background checks on its members and does not verify members' identities or ages beyond any feature we expressly describe as verification; ages are self-declared. A match reflects compatibility, not safety. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you assume all risk arising from your communications and meetings with other users and release matchin from any claims, demands, or damages arising out of disputes with or the conduct of other users.

08Third-party names & entertainment frameworks

Personality and compatibility frameworks are referenced descriptively. MBTI™ and The 5 Love Languages™ are trademarks of their respective owners; matchin is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by them. Saju and Zodiac content is provided for cultural interest and entertainment.

09Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. matchin does not guarantee that you will find a match, form a relationship, or that any compatibility read or ranking is accurate, complete, or will achieve any result. Compatibility and astrological content is for personal interest and entertainment only. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, matchin and its operators and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or for the conduct of other users or third parties. matchin's total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed US$100 (or, once paid features exist, the greater of that amount and what you paid us in the prior 12 months). Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law — for example, where applicable, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for gross negligence or willful misconduct.

11Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless matchin from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your User Content, your interactions with other users, or your breach of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

12Dispute resolution — arbitration & class-action waiver

Please read carefully — this affects how disputes are resolved. Except where prohibited by law, you and matchin agree that any dispute will be resolved by binding individual arbitration rather than in court, except that either party may bring qualifying claims in small-claims court. You and matchin waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class, collective, or representative action. You may opt out by emailing small.app.workshop@gmail.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Consumers retain any non-waivable rights under the mandatory law of their place of residence. If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or any other country whose law does not allow pre-dispute arbitration or class-action waivers in consumer contracts, this section does not apply to you, and you may bring a claim in the courts of your country of residence.

13Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these Terms or to protect the Service or its users. You may stop using matchin and delete your account at any time in Settings. Deleting your account removes your profile, photos, matches, and chats; limited records may be kept as described in the Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including §§05, 07–13) will survive.

14Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except that this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country or state of residence. Where arbitration does not apply, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence or any other court that has jurisdiction under those laws.

15General

If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger or sale. We are not liable for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Community Guidelines are the entire agreement between you and matchin regarding the Service.

16Changes & contact

matchin is currently operated by an individual developer under the name SAW (작은앱공방), and not yet by a company. We may update these Terms; we will post the new date and, for material changes, provide notice in the app or by email before they take effect.
